Book Tower of Babel in Buenos Aires

UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) has appointed Buenos Aires as World Book Capital for 2011. The city has landmarked this honour by revealing a ‘Tower of Babel’ consisting of 30, 000 books in St Martins Square in Buenos Aires. The enormous creation was created by Argentine artist Marta Minujin who used books made from languages from all over the world.

Now there’s a place I’d like to visit! If anyone has seen this, do please let me know how it was up close and personal. This “City of Books” is certainly going to take its place in history, and the Tower is a worthy tribute to the title that has been given to them for 2011.
